Roadways
The Highway Division is comprised of approximately 95 County employees who are assigned to operate a variety of equipment and maintain Jefferson County’s approximately 710 miles of roads, 43 miles within subdivisions, 167 bridges, and 359 box culverts.
Employees of the Highway Division perform various maintenance and construction activities that include pavement repair, maintaining traffic signs and signals, maintaining pavement markings, mowing County Right of Way and snow removal.
