Functions of the Human Resources Department

The mission of the Human Resources Department is to provide support and serve the needs of elected and appointed officials, employees, and citizens of the county in a positive, helpful, and professional manner.

Through collaborative efforts with members of leadership, the Human Resources department will assist with the recruiting, hiring, and orientation of new personnel. The Human Resources Department administers benefit and workers’ compensation plans; processes payroll; coordinates and tracks leaves of absence; develops, modifies and interprets policy in accordance with the Personnel Administration Program; maximizes employee relations by means of problem resolution and internal consulting; and ensures compliance with all Federal/State regulations and/or local ordinances.
