The Public Administrator’s Office contacts Jefferson County nursing homes and residential care facilities to obtain the names of their residents who have no family members or friends active in their lives. In turn, staff members seek assistance to ensure that these residents receive Christmas gifts. Staff seeks assistance from County officeholders and employees, as well as:
- Civic organizations
- Individual citizens
- Local banks
Beneficiaries of this program include not only the wards of the Public Administrator, but also any needy resident of participating County facilities. Since the program’s inception over 20 years ago, we are proud to say that the Jefferson County community has been extremely generous with donations of gifts and money to make certain that thousands of nursing home residents have a Merry Christmas.
