Jim Terry was elected in 2014 to a four year term to the County Council effective January 1, 2015. Teresa is his wife of 46 years. They have two grown children and six grandchildren - two of which they have adopted. He has been a resident of House Springs for 18 years. They moved from St. Charles County to House Springs when Jim retired because of the rolling hills and wide open spaces. Jim graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Volunteer & Service Work
Jim has been very actively involved in volunteer work and service on boards since he retired after 30 years at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. Volunteer activities include preparing tax returns for low and middle income persons (16 years). He served at the Peace Pantry in Cedar Hill (12 years). He has been a member of the Highway W/MM Task Force since moving to Jefferson County and has served as chairman for the past 11 years. He has served on the boards of Big River Ambulance District (12 years) and Jefferson County 911 Dispatch (3 years). He served on the board of East-West Gateway Council of Governments for a one year term.
