New Ordinance
Jefferson County Adopts New Liquor License Ordinance. Proof of all Jefferson County taxes paid now required by applicant beginning February 1, 2011. Read the entire ordinance (PDF).

Liquor, Picnic and Caterer License
If you have applied for a state liquor license YOU MUST also apply for a County liquor license.
Incorporated Areas
For the incorporated areas of Jefferson County:
- First, you must apply to the city in which the event is to be held.
- Second, you must apply to the state of Missouri by calling: 314-416-6280.
- When you have received your liquor license from the city and the state bring the license(s) to the Department of the County Clerk.
- Proof of all Jefferson County taxes paid is required as of February 1, 2011.
- No license shall be issued without proper proof.
- A copy of the current year Merchant’s License is required.
Tax Proof

We will issue the County liquor license(s) from the city and the state license(s). We accept cash or check made payable to the County Treasurer. We will issue the County picnic liquor license from the city liquor license(s) or letter and the state picnic liquor license.
Unincorporated Area
For the unincorporated area of Jefferson County:
- When you have received your liquor license from the state bring the license(s) to the Department of the County Clerk.
- County liquor license(s) are issued from the state license(s).
- We accept cash or check made payable to the County Treasurer.
- Proof of all Jefferson County taxes paid is required as of February 1, 2011. No license shall be issued without proper proof.
- A copy of the current year Merchant’s License is required.
