The Jefferson County Master Plan was developed and adopted on August 6, 2003 with the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing coordinated development of the county, which will, in accordance with existing and future needs, best promote the general welfare, as well as efficiency and economy in the process of development. As such, the Jefferson County Master Plan's policies, strategies, and recommendations are intended to be used as guides to decisions regarding land use, transportation and streets, economic development, and public facilities.
Jefferson County is currently in the process of updating its Master Plan. The updated Plan will provide recommendations to direct growth, investment, and development in the County. Ultimately, the Plan will answer: "What should Jefferson County look like in the next 15-20 years, and how do we get there?"
