The purpose of this project is to replace the existing Commerce Drive bridge that is considered structurally deficient.  The bridge currently has a recommended 7 Ton weight limit posting and is currently closed to one lane of the bridge. Due to multiple deficiencies, the County is proposing a total replacement of the existing bridge.  The County anticipates that a replacement bridge will be the most cost-effective means to construct this proposed project.    The proposed bridge length will be a 48’ span consisting of concrete box beams, with two 15’ lanes on the bridge.   The bridge is planned to be constructed in phases to allow for 1-way traffic at all times without closures.   Construction is scheduled for fall 2023.   

Tentative schedules for right of way acquisition and construction can be discussed at the hearing.
